Rep. Seth Moulton hypocritically claims to champion new generation of leaders while using tired talking points about socialism

On Friday Nov. 21, Seth Moulton along with 85 other House Democrats voted with Republicans to pass a resolution ‘denouncing the horrors of socialism.’ The resolution not only spreads lies about the history of socialism, it also fails to define the word even once. As Joe Tache, candidate for U.S. Senate representing Massachusetts with the Party for Socialism and Liberation said in a post on X that same day,

“Socialism means putting political power in the hands of the people and using our society's vast resources to meet our needs, rather than line billionaires' pockets.”

This comes at a time that the Democratic Party’s favorability is at a record low. This is no surprise. There is mounting evidence that working people in the U.S. have had enough of the two-party system generally. The right wing is attacking immigrant communities and threatening millions of people’s ability to access food assistance and healthcare, while the Democrats defend the status quo. Seth Moulton is no exception, and Tache is excited to go toe to toe with who he sees as an establishment opponent.

“Seth [Moulton] is running for U.S. Senate as a Democrat in Massachusetts on the premise that we need a new generation of leadership, but here he is regurgitating the same tired propaganda that has held our country back for decades,” Tache said. “You could only consider that to be a "horror" if your priority is preserving the capitalist system of inequality where the richest 900 people own as much wealth as the poorest 170,000,000 of us.”
