Joe Tache announces run for U.S. Senate

Support for non-establishment candidates, particularly socialist candidates, is on the rise all across the country. Working people of all backgrounds are looking for real solutions to the real problems we face, from the cost of living, to impending climate catastrophe, to attacks on our marginalized communities and our democratic rights.

Joe Tache is a youth worker, community organizer, and socialist based in Boston. He is a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and is running for U.S. Senate. Tache is determined to not only build a successful campaign, but to build a movement by and for working people that is capable of winning a society that prioritizes our needs over billionaire profits. For over ten years, Tache has been part of, and been shaped by, organizations and movements in Massachusetts. He has worked alongside dedicated activists in movements against worker exploitation, war, police brutality, gentrification, and many other issues. He dedicates much of his time to writing and educating about the root cause of these issues: capitalism.

“I’m running for Senate to represent Massachusetts because we deserve much more than what both Democrats and Republicans offer,” Tache said. “In the world’s richest country, we can restructure our economy to meet the needs of the people and planet. We can guarantee quality housing, healthcare, and healthy food for all by cutting our exorbitant war budget and redistributing this country’s immense wealth, rather than giving billionaires tax cuts. We need to build an independent movement of working class people to fight for a brighter future. Time’s up for the billionaires!”

The Tache4MA campaign held its first volunteer meeting on Saturday Nov. 1, over a year away from the election, and it was a vibrant and packed room of over 80 enthusiastic participants of all ages and backgrounds. Volunteers came to Roxbury from as far away as Brockton, Salem, and Springfield, to name just a few towns, and were ready to hit the ground running in spreading the word about the campaign all over the state.
